Treacy Lowe designed around fabric. She used the lightest, finest, near impossible to work with, tissue silks and sheer silk chiffon's as well as wonderful light polished silks like this that took color just wonderfully. Using fabrics on that level meant that a dress like this weighs an astonishing few ounces. The print is exotic and vivid with contrasting borders worked into the design at each cuff and the hem. The sleeves are fabulous and each widens as it reached its hem. I love how she used a lighter feeling print on the sleeves to give them a airy feel and to highlight their width. The print is hand screened onto the silk and the design is still brilliant in hue. It has a cross over closure at the neck and through the body it is cut long and lean. You can wear it loose and easy or use the original tie belt to add shape. Made of the finest woven Indian silk you could get at that time. Excellent, appears unworn condition.
Unlined and slips on to wear closes with a series of hidden . Each cuff closes with hidden snaps that close the front at the neck. The original fabric sash is present and also in excellent condition.
